Your New Jersey Accounts and Rate Info
New Jersey requires you to register online with the NJ Division of Revenue (DOR). Registering with the DOR will automatically register you for both the Withholding and Unemployment tax accounts.
Find This Information
Locate your New Jersey Employer Tax ID Number:
- This is located on any notice you've received from the New Jersey DOR.
- The DOR uses your FEIN with an additional three extra numbers at the end (ex. 123456789-XXX).
- You may also contact the DOR at (609) 292-9292 to confirm the account numbers and three-digit suffix.
Locate your New Jersey Tax Rates:
- Check your rate via the online Employer Access site. Your unemployment tax rates are accessible immediately after registration and typically updated annually at the end of July.
- If you're unable to locate your rate, refer to Form NJ-927 or contact the Department of Labor at (609) 633-6400.
