Delaware is what's referred to as a client-reporting state for unemployment insurance. Justworks needs your company’s information to report unemployment taxes under your unemployment account.
For Unemployment
In order to report, please send Justworks:
- Your Delaware Unemployment Account number
-
Your current Unemployment Tax Rate.
-
If you don't yet have an Unemployment Account, please apply for one by clicking here.
-
- You will also need to provide Justworks with your company's FEIN.
If you’re having trouble completing the online account setup process, please contact the state’s customer service line for assistance.
For Withholding
Please also close your Withholding Account using the state's Request for Change form. This should be done after the actual closure date (at least a quarter later) and when all withholding payments have been sent/settled with Delaware.
For example, if your company starts with Justworks on 11/1, it's best to send the closure form to Delaware in December/January. That way, all withholding payments from October (due in November or December depending on your payment frequency) have settled.
