Wisconsin is what's referred to as a client-reporting state for unemployment insurance. Justworks needs your company’s information to report unemployment taxes under your unemployment account.
In order to report, please send Justworks your Wisconsin Unemployment Account Number, your Unemployment Tax Rate, and your 8-digit Internet Access Key to Grant Justworks Thirty Party Administrator Access.
We don't have a Wisconsin Unemployment Account, what do we do?
If you don't have a Wisconsin Unemployment Account, you can create one via the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development.
We joined Justworks in the middle of a quarter, what do we do?
If you transitioned to Justworks in the middle of a quarter, Justworks will file for WI Unemployment for the whole quarter, as there cannot be duplicate filing under one Unemployment Account. Please send Justworks your QTD payroll reports and request all funds back from your current provider for Wisconsin State Unemployment. Since we will file for the entire quarter, we will bill you for the amount that has already been withheld, and we don’t want you to pay twice!
How do we close our Unemployment Account?
You can close your unemployment account by notifing the department of the last date of withholding (day before Justworks effective date) using one of the following methods:
- Request to Close Account in My Tax Account.
- Email email@example.com.
- Call (608) 266-2776.
If you’re having trouble completing the online account setup process, please contact the state’s customer service line for assistance.
