Customers with employees in Wyoming are required to file Unemployment Insurance under Justworks' Unemployment Accounts and customers will be subject to Justworks’ state unemployment rates. Previous state Unemployment Accounts should be suspended or closed, but if your previous PEO is filing under your (client's) unemployment account, please let Justworks know and we will send revised instructions.
My company is new to Wyoming, what do we need to do?
All businesses new to Wyoming must complete the Joint Business Registration Form. Information needed for registration includes:
- Mailing and physical addresses for company headquarters and Wyoming work locations
- Contact information
- Type of ownership (sole owner, partnership, corporation, etc.)
- Hire date, estimated payroll, specific information about the business owners
- Type of product or service you provide
Unemployment insurance tax will be reported under Justworks's account. For the question "Will you be using an Employee Leasing or Professional Employer Organization?" enter the following:
- Business name: Justworks Employment Group LLC
- UI account number: 203477002
Once processed (4-6 weeks), your company will receive a written determination from the state.
Businesses headquartered outside of Wyoming
Customers headquartered outside of Wyoming must complete both the joint registration and the Out-of-State Questionnaire. The questionnaire must be submitted by mail or fax (online submission not available).

Our company was previously on a PEO, what do we do?
Communicate your Justworks start date with your previous PEO. Justworks will take over filing for Wyoming Unemployment from your Justworks start date onwards.
Our company was previously on a different payroll provider, what do we do?
Customers who previously had a different payroll provider will need to close their unemployment account. To close an Unemployment Account complete out the Employer's Notice of Change. Fill out the Change in Ownership (Includes Sale, Merger, Transfer, Lease section, indicating you lease ALL of Business), sign, date and send back to Justworks.
