This article is for all employers using Justworks.

Justworks Help is a Slack application that Justworks' customers can add to their company's Slack workspace. Within Justworks Help, Slack users can chat directly with our Justworks Support team and quickly access Justworks Help Center articles.

How to add Justworks Help App

You can add Justworks Help to your company's Slack workspace in one of two ways. The first way is to search "Justworks Help" in the Slack App Directory website. Once you're on the Justworks Help page, click "Add to Slack".

The second way is to find the Justworks Help app directly within your current Slack workspace. On the bottom left side of Slack, scroll down to "Apps" and click "Add apps". From there, search "Justworks Help" and click "Add". Companies using Slack's free plan can only add a maximum of 10 applications to their workspace.

If you’re the first person to install the app in your workspace, you might be asked to provide credentials from your Slack account. This includes your Slack domain, and email and password.

 

Please note that your Slack account may be configured so that only Slack admins have permission to add new integrations to your Slack account. If that’s the case, please contact your Slack administrator to add the Justworks Help to your Slack account.

 

Once you’ve provided your credentials, you’ll need to authorize Justworks Help to access your Slack account.

Explanation of Authorizations

On behalf of the app, Justworks Help can:
  • View files shared in channels and conversations that Justworks Help has been added to - Allows us to handle attachments

  • View emoji reactions and their associated content in channels and conversations that Justworks Help has been added to - When someone adds an emoji reaction to a message, we send that into our ticketing system as part of the message

  • View messages and other content in direct messages that Justworks Help has been added to - This only applies to messages sent directly to the Justworks Help app (the app can not see any other direct messages)

  • View basic information about direct messages that Justworks Help has been added to - When a user messages Justworks, we can see who they are

  • View people in your workspace - Allows us to create a user in our ticketing system with name and email

  • View email addresses of people in your workspace - Allows us to access the email address of the messaging user, and create that user in our ticketing system

  • View the name, email domain, and icon for workspaces Justworks Help is connected to - Gives us insight into which companies add our app

  • Add, edit, and delete remote files on your behalf - Allows files to move between our ticketing system and Slack

  • View messages that directly mention @justworks_help in conversations that the app is in - Notifies us if someone @mentions the Justworks Help app

  • Send messages as @justworks_help - Allows us to respond back to users via our ticketing system

  • Upload, edit, and delete files as Justworks Help - Allows us to send attachments via our ticketing system

  • Send messages as @justworks_help with a customized username and avatar - Allows us to customize the name and icon of the app to match the name and icon of the agent when they respond via our ticketing system

  • Add and edit emoji reactions - Allows us to add emojis

  • Start direct messages with people - When a user clicks “Chat with Support”, this is what starts the actual conversation

The final step is to click "Allow". Now you’re ready to chat with support through Justworks Help.

 

How to use Justworks Help App

Now you're ready to chat with our support team via Slack! Start a conversation by clicking either "Messages" or "Chat with Support".

Justworks Help "Home" tab also contains other helpful resources, such as the ability to search Justworks Help Center articles, contact Justworks Support through other channels (phone & email) and invite other coworkers to install the Justworks Help app.
