This article is about Justworks PEO and Employer of Record. What product am I using?
If you’re using Justworks for your International Employer of Record (EOR) alongside a Justworks accounting integration (Xero, QuickBooks Online or NetSuite) you can map invoice line items by country. This allows you to organize how international payroll data is reflected in your accounting provider.
International mapping introduces a country-level view within your existing accounting integration mapping setup. Instead of applying one set of mappings across all invoices, you can assign accounts based on the country or countries associated with each individual invoice.
Mapping by Country
Within the Company-wide mappings, a country dropdown will allow you to select a specific location. Once selected, you can view and assign accounts for the line items associated with that country’s invoices. Only line items that have appeared on invoices for that country will be available to map.
This process should be completed for each country where you have employees and each country maintains its own mapping configuration. This means updates made for one country will not affect mappings for another.
Adding New Countries
When you add an employee in a new country, that location will appear as an option in the country dropdown. At that point, any new line items associated with invoices from that country will need to be mapped before the invoice can sync.
Overrides
Department and employee-level overrides are available for international mappings and can be configured within each country. These overrides are optional and only need to be used if you want to map specific line items differently from the default country-level configuration.
If no overrides are set, line items will follow the default mappings for that country.
Office-Level Mapping
Office-level overrides are not available for international employees. Since international locations are not assigned offices in Justworks, office mapping applies only to U.S.-based teams.
For international employees, mappings can be managed at the country, department, or employee level.
