We now have two different reporting facets for you to choose from — Data Exports and Reports.

Data Exports: Offer information in the form of spreadsheets to help you gain an understanding and make data-driven decisions about an organization’s workforce. Customize, download, and share your data with maximum flexibility. Save time with features such as saving custom templates for future use.
- Reports: Choose from ready-to-use templates to help you pull reports for the most common Benefits, HR, and Payments workflows.
To find Data Exports, log into your Justworks account, find the Analytics section on the left-hand navigation bar, and select Reporting.
The Overview tab explains how this tool can be used. The Templates tab is where you can browse 7 pre-built templates across Workforce, Benefits, and Time Off.
After you click “Get Started,” you’ll be brought directly to a landing page where different types of Data Exports can be viewed.
- Owned by me: Data Exports you’ve created
- Shared with me: Data Exports created by another Justworks admin and sent to me
- Published: Data Export templates that Justworks has found to be the most valuable to most admins
Click Exit on the top right at any time to view the Data Exports overview page.
There are two types of Data Exports to choose from:
- Aggregated Data Export: Retrieve data containing metric values. For example, Headcount and Resignation Rate.
- Detailed Data Export: Retrieve data containing attribute values for individual subjects (such as employees, candidates, and requisitions) and events (such as starts, exits, and pay changes).
By default, the pre-filled Data Exports are set as Detailed, while customized ones are, by default, Aggregated.
Clicking on a Data Export will open it and present itself as a spreadsheet. You can easily adjust the Visual, Analytic Objects, Time Window, and Apply Filters from the top left.
Table settings on the right allow you to select and edit which attributes the spreadsheet will show. You can click the X to remove them or hover over the dots to drag and reorder. Click Apply changes at the bottom to see your updates reflected.
When you’re done, you can Close without saving or Duplicate and save.
Create a Data Export
To create a data export from scratch, select New data export on the top right.
From the top left, you can:
- Add a title and description
- Change the type of Data Export (Detailed or Aggregated)
- Apply a metric (e.g. Headcount)
- Select a time window and apply filters
There are two sections on the top right-hand side of the screen that you can toggle between — About and Insights.
About provides a key takeaway about the Data Export you’re viewing, and Insights shows changes over time.

People Analytics is included for all PEO customers. Please note that there are different levels of People Analytics functionality available depending on what Justworks plan your company is on (Basic or Plus).
