With the world moving at such a fast pace, keeping information up-to-date is essential. At Justworks, we understand the need for quick and easy updates to your EOR employees' information. Here’s how you can make those changes directly from our app.
What Changes Can Be Made:
- Date of Birth
- Department
- Emergency Contact
- Full Name
- Home Address (restricted to the same country the EOR employee is employed in)
- Home/Work Email
- Mailing Address
- Manager
- Phone Number
- Preferred Name
- Pronouns
- Work ID
- Compensation
How to Make Changes
Navigate to the Employee Profile
- Search for the employee’s name using the search bar at the top.
- Alternatively, go to the "Employees" section on the left sidebar and scroll to find their name.
Edit the Information
From the employee’s profile page, locate the section that needs editing and select "Edit".
The Editing Flow will present sections and fields that are editable. Simply update the necessary information.
Save the Changes
Once you’ve made the updates, click "Update". The changes will take effect immediately!
Note: Home Address changes are restricted to the existing country of employment.
Editing Compensation (Salary, Job Title, and Role)
If you need to update an employee’s compensation details such as salary, job title, or role responsibilities you can do this directly from the employee profile by starting a contract edit request.
How to Edit Compensation
Navigate to the Employee Profile
Search for the employee using the search bar, or select them from the Employees tab.
Start a Contract Edit
In the employee’s profile, locate and click Edit compensation. This will launch a guided editing flow for contract-related changes.
Enter Updated Details
You’ll be able to update:
- Pay amount per year (CAD)
- Job title
- Role responsibilities
Review any existing contract details (e.g., start date, work country) for context.
Select an Effective Date
Choose when the changes should take effect. Changes applied mid-pay period will be prorated automatically.
Note: Selecting a past date may result in retroactive pay, which will be included in the next payroll.
Review and Submit
Review a summary of the changes, including a comparison of current vs. new values. Confirm that you understand the changes and submit the request.
Important: Compensation updates require review and approval by Justworks before they take effect.
What Happens Next?
Once submitted, the request will be reviewed by the Justworks team. After approval:
- The updated compensation (including any retroactive adjustments, if applicable) will take effect on the selected date.
- An addendum to the employee’s contract will be sent to the employee for review and signature.
