This article is about Justworks EOR (Employer of Record). What product am I using?
Managing a global workforce brings new and exciting adventures, including learning about the various holidays celebrated across the world. This article is designed to assist you in setting up and managing holidays for your employees based on their respective countries and regions.
Accessing the calendar
To access the Holiday Schedule, navigate to Time Off from the dashboard and click on Holidays. Here, you’ll find a filter that allows you to select which country’s holidays you want to view. By default, it will show the United States. For this example, let’s switch to Canada.
Selecting your country
Depending on the country you have selected, the holiday lists are determined by province/state (pueblo)/county. In Canada, for instance, statutory holidays are indicated by a disabled checkbox and cannot be turned on or off. This remains true for any country on our platform that has mandatory holidays, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
On the employee side, this setup automatically applies holidays based on the employee's address. For example, employees in Alberta, Ontario, or British Columbia will see the appropriate holidays for their province.
This feature ensures that each employee sees the correct holidays relevant to their location, simplifying holiday management for your organization.
Custom Holidays
In addition to managing predefined holidays, you can create custom holidays that apply to all your employees, regardless of their country of residence. To add a custom holiday, click on Add holidays within the Holidays section, enter the name and date, and then click Save. These custom holidays will be visible to all employees in your organization.
