Managers who are non-admins have the ability to enter, approve, and submit hours worked by  their direct reports directly in Timecards.

If admins want managers at the company to manage their team’s Timecards, they can enable the permission from the ‘Permissions’ tab under the Company section of the left-hand side menu in Justworks.  From there, they can select ‘Manager Permissions,’ and enable ‘Manage Employee Timecards.’

Once enabled, any employees who are listed as the manager for non-exempt salaried or hourly employees will be able to oversee and approve Timecards for their direct reports. If managers have hourly employees down their reporting chain, they will also have the ability to enter hours for those employees.

Managers will be able to edit their team’s hours in Timecards up until when payments process for the company, generally four business days prior to payday.

Those with manager permissions, however, will still be restricted from viewing sensitive information, such as the pay rates of employees who are not in their reporting chain. They’ll also be unable to schedule other payments, such as supplemental payments, to their direct reports.
