Invoices
You can view invoice data and payment history from 'Invoices' under Payments in the left-hand navigation.
Invoices are organized by their processing date with an expected total debit amount for all invoices that occur on the same date. Additionally, within each grouping, you will be able to see high-level invoice information for each individual invoice, such as the pay types included, the related timeframe of the pay, the pay date, and the region (domestic or international payments) included.
Clicking on either the Timeframe or on View will let you dig deeper into an individual invoice’s debit details. Within the debit details, you will be able to see further information such as a timeline of key payroll events, a high-level overview of items that impact the debit amount, as well as the debit total.
By default, the invoice details will be organized by category of individual line items. These can be expanded to see the individual line item value for each employee or contractor.
Alternatively, you can toggle the view to by person for visibility on the individual employee’s gross pay, withholdings, deductions and final net pay. Clicking on the individual employee will take you to their wage statement to see the full pay details.
You can also download these views to review outside of Justworks in either PDF or CSV format, but clicking Download and selecting your preferred report.
If you have connected and mapped one of Justworks’ available accounting integrations, icons related to syncing or the status of sync will become visible.
To sync invoice data, click the icon with two blue arrows. The cloud icon will show you the status and turn green with a small white check mark after the invoice has successfully synced.
You can find more information on integrating Justworks with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Xero. From the Invoices tab, you can click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner to see the account integrations that are available to you.
Adjustments, credits, and tax items (SUI, FUTA, late fees) on invoices
To view adjustments on your invoices, open any invoice and look for the Adjustments section. Hover over the (i) icon to see whether an adjustment impacted the company or an employee and view brief details.
Note: Certain tax corrections (e.g., SUI credits processed as tax amendments on our end) post as adjustments and do not generate separate invoices. This can make self-serve tracking harder; contact Support if you need a detailed breakdown.
Common adjustment types you may see:
FUTA credit reduction adjustment: Applies when your state is designated as a credit reduction state; a supplemental debit may be assessed and shown with a per-employee breakdown.
SUI rate changes: Mid-year or retroactive state unemployment insurance (SUI) rate updates can result in charges or credits that appear as adjustments.
Late fees/penalties: Can post even with Direct Debit if wage reports were outstanding or third-party authorization (TPA) access was missing. These appear as adjustments tied to agency notices.
