The Timecards Usage report is a way to download timecard data across different pay periods in one place. You can group the data up by the pay period or by the date range of the report. Some ways you might use this report include:

  • Conduct an audit of your hourly employees' scheduled hours
  • Compare with data from another time tracking system to ensure consistency
  • Uncover trends (e.g., People are working more overtime this month)

How to use the report

You can access the Timecards Usage report by navigating to “Reports” and then clicking on “Hours worked.”

First, choose a date range to run the report for. The dates given in the dropdown coincide with the start and end of biweekly pay periods. Choose the start and end dates corresponding to the pay periods you want to download timecard information for.

For example, if you wanted to pull data from all of the calendar year 2017, you’d have to select the start date of December 28th, 2016 and the end date of January 7, 2018, since those are the start and end dates of pay periods that most closely correspond with the calendar year.

You’ll also choose what to group the information in your report by. Pay basis will show each applicable employee’s payment broken down by each pay period of the selected date range. Total across pay periods will total the number of hours worked by each employee over the pay periods of your selected date range. Lastly, Entry Type will show the hours as they were entered originally in the timecard, either weekly or daily.

You can choose to include or exclude fields such as office, employment status, department, or other personal information. When you’re ready, go ahead and click ‘download report.’

Who can access the report?

Admins who have the ‘view invoices and reporting’ permission will be able to access the Timecards Usage report.
