Overview
Justworks' integration with Indeed automatically distributes jobs published in Justworks Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to Indeed, helping you reach more candidates without creating or managing separate job postings.
Indeed job distribution is automatically enabled for Justworks ATS customers. You do not need to set up the integration or have an Indeed Employer account. Unless your company opts out, all jobs you currently have published in Justworks ATS, as well as jobs you publish in the future, will automatically be distributed to Indeed.
Candidates who find your jobs on Indeed can apply directly through Indeed Apply, and completed applications automatically flow into your Justworks hiring pipeline. As you update jobs in Justworks, those changes automatically sync to Indeed so your postings stay accurate and up to date.
If you don't want your Justworks ATS jobs distributed to Indeed, you can opt out at any time.
What to Know About Automatic Indeed Job Distribution
There is no setup required to begin distributing your Justworks ATS jobs to Indeed. Indeed job distribution is automatically turned on for your company.
Here’s what that means:
- All jobs currently published in Justworks ATS are automatically distributed to Indeed.
- Any jobs you publish in the future are also automatically distributed to Indeed.
- You do not need an Indeed Employer account for your jobs to appear on Indeed or for applications to flow into Justworks ATS.
- You cannot opt out individual jobs. Indeed requires a complete company-wide job feed, so turning Indeed distribution on or off applies to all published Justworks ATS jobs.
- You can opt out of Indeed distribution at any time from your Justworks integration settings.
- If your company has already posted the same jobs directly on Indeed, you should remove those duplicate postings. This helps prevent duplicate job listings and ensures new applications are tracked through Justworks ATS.
- Applications previously submitted to jobs posted directly on Indeed remain in Indeed. They will not be imported into Justworks ATS.
How the Integration Works
Once a job is published in Justworks ATS, it is automatically distributed to Indeed. You don't need to sign in to Indeed, recreate the posting, or take any additional steps to send the job to Indeed.
Candidates who discover your jobs on Indeed can apply using Indeed Apply. Their application, including supported screening question responses you've configured in Justworks, is automatically added to the corresponding job in your Justworks hiring pipeline.
As you manage your jobs in Justworks:
- New published jobs are automatically distributed to Indeed.
- Edits to published jobs automatically sync to Indeed.
- Applications submitted through Indeed Apply flow into the corresponding job in Justworks ATS.
- Important hiring milestones for applicants who applied through Indeed Apply are automatically shared with Indeed.
- When you close a job in Justworks, the corresponding Indeed posting is automatically removed.
You do not need an Indeed account for any of this to work. Your jobs can appear on Indeed and applications can flow into Justworks ATS without you creating an Indeed Employer account.
Don't Want Your Jobs Published to Indeed?
If you don't want your published jobs distributed to Indeed, you can opt out at any time.
To turn off Indeed job distribution simply navigate to Integrations under Settings, select Indeed and select Disconnect.
Once you opt out, Justworks will stop distributing your jobs to Indeed, and jobs previously distributed through the integration will be removed from Indeed within the hour.
An important thing to note is that opting out applies to all jobs published through Justworks ATS. Indeed requires Justworks to send jobs as a company-wide feed, so you cannot choose individual jobs to include or exclude. If you opt out, none of your published Justworks ATS jobs will be distributed to Indeed.
You can return to Settings > Integrations > Indeed if you decide to turn Indeed job distribution back on in the future.
Already Use Indeed? Understanding Your Job Source
Having an Indeed account does not change whether your jobs are distributed to Indeed. Your Justworks ATS jobs are automatically distributed whether or not you have an Indeed Employer account.
However, if you already use Indeed and want jobs published through Justworks to be associated with your existing Indeed account, your Job Source may need to be linked.
A Job Source is how Indeed identifies where your job data originates. What you need to do depends on how your company has previously sent jobs to Indeed.
If you've never sent jobs to Indeed through another ATS or career-site integration
No action is required for your jobs to be distributed to Indeed.
Justworks will send your published jobs to Indeed using the Job Source associated with your Justworks job feed. Your jobs can appear on Indeed and candidates can apply even if you don't have an Indeed account.
This applies if you:
- Have never used Indeed;
- Have an Indeed account but have never posted jobs; or
- Have created jobs directly within Indeed but have never sent job data to Indeed through another ATS or career-site integration.
If you have or later create an Indeed account and want the jobs distributed through Justworks to appear within that account:
- Contact Justworks to request the Job Source Name associated with your Justworks jobs.
- Provide that Job Source Name to Indeed Customer Support.
- Indeed Customer Support can link the corresponding Job Source to your Indeed account.
Your jobs will still be distributed to Indeed if you don't complete these steps. Linking the Job Source is only necessary if you want the jobs sent through Justworks to be associated with your Indeed account.
If you've previously sent jobs to Indeed through another ATS or career-site integration
If your company previously sent job data to Indeed through another ATS or an integration with your career site, you'll want Justworks to use your existing Indeed Job Source Name.
To do so:
- Contact Indeed Customer Support and ask them to confirm the Job Source Name associated with your existing job feed.
- Provide that exact Job Source Name to Justworks.
- Justworks will use that Job Source Name when sending your jobs to Indeed.
Using your existing Job Source Name helps Indeed correctly associate jobs coming from Justworks with your company's existing Indeed presence.

If You've Already Posted Jobs Directly on Indeed
If you've manually created a job directly on Indeed and the same role is also published through Justworks ATS, we recommend removing the job you created directly on Indeed.
Otherwise, candidates may see duplicate listings for the same role, and applications may be split between Indeed and Justworks ATS.
Once the job is being distributed through Justworks:
- Candidates can find the Justworks-distributed job on Indeed.
- Candidates can apply through Indeed Apply.
- New applications to the Justworks-distributed job flow into the corresponding hiring pipeline in Justworks ATS.
Applications previously submitted to a job you created directly on Indeed will remain in Indeed and will not be imported into Justworks ATS.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to set up the Indeed integration?
No. Indeed job distribution is automatically enabled for Justworks ATS customers. You don't need to connect or configure the integration before your published jobs are distributed to Indeed.
If you don't want your jobs distributed to Indeed, you can opt out under Settings > Integrations > Indeed.
Do I need an Indeed Employer account?
No. An Indeed Employer account is not required for your Justworks ATS jobs to appear on Indeed or for applications submitted through Indeed Apply to flow into Justworks.

Can I choose which jobs are distributed to Indeed?
No. Indeed requires Justworks to send a complete company-wide job feed. You cannot include or exclude individual jobs.
You can either distribute all published Justworks ATS jobs to Indeed or opt your company out of Indeed job distribution entirely.
Do candidates apply in Indeed or Justworks?

Will changes I make in Justworks automatically update on Indeed?
Yes. Changes you make to published jobs in Justworks automatically sync to Indeed. When you close a job in Justworks, the corresponding Indeed posting is also automatically removed.
I already have an Indeed account. Do I need to connect it?
No. Your jobs will be distributed to Indeed regardless of whether you connect an existing Indeed account.
If you want your Justworks-distributed jobs associated with your existing Indeed account, the steps depend on how you've previously used Indeed:
- If you've only posted jobs directly within Indeed, request your Job Source Name from Justworks and provide it to Indeed Customer Support.
- If you've previously sent jobs to Indeed through another ATS or career-site integration, contact Indeed Customer Support to obtain your existing Job Source Name, then provide it to Justworks.
What is a Job Source?
A Job Source identifies where your company's job data originates when it is sent to Indeed.
Justworks uses a Job Source when distributing your ATS jobs to Indeed. If you already have an Indeed account or previously sent jobs through another ATS or career-site integration, the correct Job Source helps Indeed associate your jobs with your existing Indeed presence.
What happens if I've already posted the same job directly on Indeed?
If the same role is now being automatically distributed through Justworks ATS, remove the job you manually created in Indeed to help prevent duplicate listings.
Applications submitted to the original job you created directly in Indeed will remain in Indeed and will not be imported into Justworks ATS.
How do I opt out of Indeed job distribution?
Navigate to Settings > Integrations, select Indeed, and choose Disconnect.
This opts your entire company out of Indeed job distribution. Your Justworks-distributed jobs will be removed from Indeed within the hour, and future jobs you publish in Justworks ATS will not be distributed to Indeed unless you turn the integration back on.
Can I opt out a specific job?
No. Indeed requires a company-wide job feed, so individual jobs cannot be excluded. Opting out stops Indeed distribution for all published jobs from your company.
Can I promote or sponsor Indeed jobs through this integration?
No. For the time being, the integration supports organic job distribution only. Sponsored or paid job promotion is not supported through the Justworks integration.
Do candidates apply in Indeed or Justworks?
Candidates apply directly through Indeed Apply. Once submitted, their application automatically appears in the corresponding job within Justworks ATS, including their contact information and screening question responses.
Will changes I make in Justworks automatically update on Indeed?
Yes. Changes made to published jobs in Justworks, including edits to the job posting and closing a role, automatically sync to Indeed.
Can I disconnect the integration?
Yes. Navigate to Settings > Integrations, select Indeed, and choose Disconnect.
