Overview

What is Advisor Dashboard?

Advisor Dashboard is a client management tool built specifically for outside/external CPAs, Accountants, Controllers, Bookkeepers, Fractional CFOs, and other Tax/Financial advisors.

Whether you have one client or many on Justworks, Advisor Dashboard gives you,  

  • One-click access: Manage all your Justworks clients with a single login.
  • Seamless team collaboration: Easily control access and permissions for your team members.
  • Dedicated support: A direct contact for escalations to keep things running smoothly.

Getting Started

How do I set up Advisor Dashboard?

It takes less than a few minutes to complete the steps. Note that your firm may already have an Advisor Dashboard account. If your firm already has an account, request that your admin send you a team member invitation.

Here’s how to set up your firm on Advisor Dashboard:

  1. Visit https://advisor.justworks.com/welcome, and click Get Started.
  2. Add your Firm Name and Website, and click next
  3. Start your profile by entering the following:
    • First and Last Name
    • Work Email (Note: All team members must use the same email domain)
    • Role (Note: Choose from the dropdown or write your own)
    • Work Phone and Cell Phone (Note: Your cell phone is used to verify your identity when contacting support), then click Next
  4. Complete your profile with
    • Add a Personal Email (Note: For password reset), 
    • Create a Username (Note: Cannot be an email) and Password, then Click Create firm

How do I add team members to Advisor Dashboard?

Before adding clients, it's best to add your team members first to ensure the best experience for you, your team, and your clients. It’s quick and takes less than 1 minute per invite.

Here’s how to add your team members:

  1. Log into your Advisor Dashboard
  2. Navigate to the Firm tab on the left side and click Firm Info
  3. In the top right corner, click +Add member
  4. Enter your team member’s name, email (must be on the same email domain), and role, then click Continue
  5. Choose the correct permissions for the team member’s role in managing your firm account, then click Invite member

Your team member will receive an email invitation, which expires in 7 days. You can track pending invitations under the Firm info tab. Click Resend invite to send a new invitation if the first invitation expires.

How do I add current Justworks clients to my Advisor Dashboard?

You can add current Justworks clients very easily. 

To begin,

  1. Log into Advisor Dashboard
  2. Click “Add new client” from the top right of the Home screen
  3. Select “My client has a Justworks account”, and click “Next”
  4. Add your client’s legal business name, federal EIN, and Justworks offering, and click “Next”
  5. Choose the necessary permissions, and click “Next” to submit

How do I assign team members to client accounts?

Now that you’ve set up your team and added clients, here’s how to assign clients to your team members. You can do this from either a “Team” or “Client” view.
From the Team View:

  1. Go to the Firm Info tab and select your team member
  2. Click Assign client in the top right corner
  3. From here, choose the client from the dropdown menu
  4. Set the permissions for that team member, then click Assign member

From the Client View:

  1. Go to the Manage all clients tab
  2. Select the client and review the permissions assigned to you
  3. From here, click Assign firm member in the top right corner
  4. Choose a team member from the drop-down menu
  5. Set the permissions for that team member, then click Assign member

Adding Current Justworks Clients

How can I invite current Justworks clients to my Advisor Dashboard view?

Now, you can invite clients directly from Advisor Dashboard.

  1. Click “Add new client” from the top right of the Home screen
  2. Select “My client has a Justworks account”, and click “Next”
  3. Add your client’s legal business name, federal EIN, and Justworks offering, and click “Next”
  4. Choose the necessary permissions, and click “Next” to submit

After submission, you’ll see a success message. If the company exists at Justwork, all admins with the necessary permissions will receive an email and in-app notification to approve your request.

Note: You can track requests in the Requested tab under PEO or Payroll, depending on which offering your client is using.

Client Invitations

My client invited me to manage their Justworks account. I accepted, but I don’t see them listed. What should I do?

If you're setting up your Advisor Dashboard account for the first time after being invited by your client, sometimes the invitation may not activate until you create your Advisor Dashboard account. So, complete the setup of your Advisor Dashboard account first, see the instructions above, then go back to the original email invitation and click Accept to connect the client to your Advisor Dashboard.

How can my Justworks Payroll clients add their account access to my Advisor Dashboard?

Your clients can quickly add their Justworks Payroll account to your Advisor Dashboard view—it takes less than 2 minutes! Share the how-to video (Payroll) or help center article (Payroll) with your clients to guide them through it.

You can add your clients from Advisor Dashboard. See the "Adding Current Justworks Clients" section above. Or you can walk your client through the following steps, 

  1. Log into the Justworks Payroll account
  2. Under People on the left side, Click Third party admins
  3. Select Add firm in the purple box toward the bottom of the screen
  4. Add personal information for the accountant, then click Continue
  5. This should bring you to a new member type called Accountant or accountant firm
  6. Choose the correct permissions for the accountant firm's role in managing the client’s account, then click Invite firm

How can my Justworks PEO clients add their account access to my Advisor Dashboard?

Your clients can quickly add their Justworks PEO account to your Advisor Dashboard view—it takes less than 2 minutes! Share the PEO video and help center article (PEO) with your clients to guide them.

You can add your clients from Advisor Dashboard. See the "Adding Current Justworks Clients" section above. Or You can walk your client through these steps, 

  1. Log into the Justworks PEO account
  2. Under Manage on the left side, click Third-party admin (Note: If it's not visible, you or your client likely don’t have the correct permissions. Contact an admin who does)
  3. Click Invite center in the grey box in the center of the screen
  4. Under Add third party or temp section, Click Add accountant
  5. Add personal information for the accountant (Note: can add any team member that is already set up with Advisor Dashboard)
  6. Choose the correct permissions for the accountant firm role in managing the client’s account, then click Send Invite
