What is a Work ID?
Work IDs are a unique IDs within Justworks that are assigned to every employee or contractor at a company. With Work IDs, employers can easily link their team member’s information across systems or reports without relying on personal information like last names or social security numbers.
All Work IDs are unique to each company, and automatically assigned as soon as a new employee or contractor is invited to Justworks.
Work IDs can be found under “job information” in every member profile and are also included in reports.
Existing employees or contractors will be retroactively assigned a Work ID based on their start date listed in their profile or by the first letter of their last name if employees have the same start date.
Can I edit a Work ID?
Absolutely! Work IDs are editable and can be changed to match any unique IDs your company already has in place for your employees or contractors.
If you have the “Manage employees” permission, you’ll be able to view and edit Work IDs in employee profiles. If you have the “View all employee info” and “View basic employee info” permissions, you will only be able to view Work IDs.
Work IDs have a maximum length of fifty (50) characters. Sadly, no emojis at this time.
