If you’re an hourly or non-exempt salaried employee in Justworks, you’ll get paid through timecards. Most companies on Justworks have their hourly employees on biweekly pay schedule, that pays them every other Friday for the two work weeks prior. If your company has hourly employees on the weekly pay frequency, then you'll be paid each Friday for the prior work week.
You’ll see the ‘Timecards’ tab in your Justworks account, under the ‘You’ heading from the left-hand side menu.
If your company has employee timecard entry enabled, you’ll be able to enter your hours for your current pay period here.
You can choose to either enter hours for each day of the pay period, or enter hours grouped by the week of the pay period.
You’ll also be able to save your timecards throughout the pay period. You can save and edit as many times as you like before submitting your hours to your company's admin for approval.
However, once you submit your hours for the pay period, you will not be able to edit them further. If you need to make any further adjustments, you’ll have to speak to your company’s admin.
If your company doesn’t have employee timecard entry enabled, you’ll have to communicate your hours worked to your admin outside of Justworks. You will see the amount of hours entered for each payment under your ‘Paystubs’ once payday comes, though.
Syncing Paid Time Off in Timecards
If you've taken time off from a policy that has the Timecard Sync setting enabled, you'll automatically see those hours listed on your timecard.
You’ll see your time off listed on a new line under your regular hours for the applicable week.
Since these hours are automatically entered to your timecard, you won’t be able to edit your PTO hours from that screen. Though you can still enter work hours on days which you’ve scheduled time off, you’ll have to reach out to your admin if you need to make any adjustments to the amount of PTO hours.
Keep in mind that at this time, PTO will not be synced into a timecard if you have already saved or submitted said timecard, however. It's best to record those as regular hours, and ask your company's admin to adjust those hours.
Reminder Emails
Justworks will help to make sure you’re paid on time, and for the correct amount. We’ll automatically send reminder emails to your work email at the end of the pay period and on the morning of the hour submission deadline.
You’ll also receive emails for when your hours are approved, as well as on the morning of pay day.
