Overview Section
Admins supporting employees in Canada using Justworks Employer of Record (EOR) can quote and request supplemental benefits directly in the Justworks platform.
This self-service process allows you to:
- Generate a real-time benefits quote based on employee salaries.
- Review available benefit offerings for Canada.
- Submit your benefit selections.
Who Can Use This Feature?
Any EOR admin with Company Level Permissions to “Manage company benefits” can access the Canada benefits submission form directly from the Benefits Center.
How to Request A Benefits Quote
To set up benefits, a quote must be generated first. The quote includes pricing based on employee salaries and outlines the complete package cost.
To get started, from your Justworks dashboard, select the Benefits section.

Select the Add Benefits tab within Company benefits, then click the “View details” button within the International tile.

You’ll navigate to an International benefits page listing all of the countries where you can request a quote and select benefits for directly in Justworks. To request benefits in Canada, you will want to click the 'Get started' button next to Canada on the list.

You’ll be prompted to 'Request a quote' before making benefit selections. Quotes are based on employee salary and show estimated costs for the full suite of Canadian benefits.

To get a quote, enter the employee’s salary in their local currency in the Employee 1 field. For this example, we’re using “68,000.00 CAD” as shown below.
You can select the '+ Add employee' button to include another employee’s salary. You can do this multiple times to capture all of your Canadian employees.
Once complete, click 'Request a quote' to request a quote in real-time.

Note: Canada requires offering all insurance benefits together.
Your quote will be generated instantly, and you may click 'View quote' to access and review it. From this screen, you can also click 'Select Benefits' to view and select benefits for your team members.

How to Select Supplemental Benefits
From the previous screen, you would want to click the 'Select Benefits' button. You may also navigate back to that screen from your Justworks dashboard by selecting the Benefits section, clicking the Add Benefits tab within Company benefits, selecting the “View details” button within the International tile, and clicking the 'Get started' button next to Canada.
Before getting started, take a moment to review the guidelines on how to complete the form and what to expect after submission. You’ll also find an overview of the benefits available in Canada and information to keep in mind that outlines important implementation details.

Each benefit is presented in an individual card. Click 'Select benefit' on each applicable card to add it to your package. You can also specify a Requested effective date based on employee hire dates. These dates are used as guidance and are not guaranteed. Effective dates cannot be in the past and must be set for a future date.
Certain benefits, such as the Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan (GRRSP) shown below offer an Employer match.

It’s important to note that, in Canada, if you would like to offer any insurance benefit (Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, AD&D, Critical Illness), you must offer the entire suite of benefits, and you must choose “Select all insurance benefits”

Once selections are complete, you can review all Selections and 'Submit' the form.

What Happens Next?
Once benefit selections are submitted, you will receive an email confirming receipt of the form and detailing the next steps for your employees.
Then, eligible employees receive enrollment forms directly via email. Once employees complete their forms, our team will finalize their enrollment and send direct confirmation.
