Advisor Dashboard is a client management tool built specifically for outside/external CPAs, Accountants, Controllers, Bookkeepers, Fractional CFOs, and other Tax/Financial advisors.

Getting Started
How do I set up Advisor Dashboard?
It takes less than a few minutes to complete the steps. Note that your firm may already have an Advisor Dashboard account. If your firm already has an account, request that your admin send you a team member invitation.
Here’s how to set up your firm on Advisor Dashboard:
- Visit https://advisor.justworks.com/welcome, and click Get Started.
- Add your Firm Name and Website, and click next
- Start your profile by entering the following:
- First and Last Name
- Work Email (Note: All team members must use the same email domain)
- Role (Note: Choose from the dropdown or write your own)
- Work Phone and Cell Phone (Note: Your cell phone is used to verify your identity when contacting support), then click Next
- Complete your profile with
- Add a Personal Email (Note: For password reset),
- Create a Username (Note: Cannot be an email) and Password, then Click Create firm
How do I add team members to Advisor Dashboard?
Before adding clients, it's best to add your team members first to ensure the best experience for you, your team, and your clients. It’s quick and takes less than 1 minute per invite.
Here’s how to add your team members:
- Log into your Advisor Dashboard
- Navigate to the Firm tab on the left side and click Firm Info
- In the top right corner, click +Add member
- Enter your team member’s name, email (must be on the same email domain), and role, then click Continue
- Choose the correct permissions for the team member’s role in managing your firm account, then click Invite member
Your team member will receive an email invitation, which expires in 7 days. You can track pending invitations under the Firm info tab. Click Resend invite to send a new invitation if the first invitation expires.
How do I add current Justworks clients to my Advisor Dashboard?

How do I assign team members to client accounts?
Now that you’ve set up your team and added clients, here’s how to assign clients to your team members. You can do this from either a “Team” or “Client” view.
From the Team View:
- Go to the Firm Info tab and select your team member
- Click Assign client in the top right corner
- From here, choose the client from the dropdown menu
- Set the permissions for that team member, then click Assign member
From the Client View:
- Go to the Manage all clients tab
- Select the client and review the permissions assigned to you
- From here, click Assign firm member in the top right corner
- Choose a team member from the drop-down menu
- Set the permissions for that team member, then click Assign member
Client Invitations
My client invited me to manage their Justworks account. I accepted, but I don’t see them listed. What should I do?
If you're setting up your Advisor Dashboard account for the first time after being invited by your client, sometimes the invitation may not activate until you create your Advisor Dashboard account. So, complete the setup of your Advisor Dashboard account first, see the instructions above, then go back to the original email invitation and click Accept to connect the client to your Advisor Dashboard.
How can my Justworks Payroll clients add their account access to my Advisor Dashboard?
Your clients can quickly add their Justworks Payroll account to your Advisor Dashboard view—it takes less than 2 minutes! Share the how-to video (Payroll) or help center article (Payroll) with your clients to guide them through it.
Or you can walk your client through these steps, or if you have the necessary permissions, you may be able to complete the process on your own.
- Log into the Justworks Payroll account
- Under People on the left side, Click Third party admins
- Select Add firm in the purple box toward the bottom of the screen
- Add personal information for the accountant, then click Continue
- This should bring you to a new member type called Accountant or accountant firm
- Choose the correct permissions for the accountant firm's role in managing the client’s account, then click Invite firm

How can my Justworks PEO clients add their account access to my Advisor Dashboard?

Or You can walk your client through these steps, or if you have the necessary permissions, you may be able to complete the process on your own.
- Log into the Justworks PEO account
- Under Manage on the left side, click Third-party admin (Note: If it's not visible, you or your client likely don’t have the correct permissions. Contact an admin who does)
- Click Invite center in the grey box in the center of the screen
- Under Add third party or temp section, Click Add accountant
- Add personal information for the accountant (Note: can add any team member that is already set up with Advisor Dashboard)
- Choose the correct permissions for the accountant firm role in managing the client’s account, then click Send Invite

Adding/Referring New Clients to Justworks
How do I add new clients to Justworks Payroll and my Advisor Dashboard?
Justworks Payroll is the perfect fit for your clients who are not quite ready for Justworks PEO but need a seamless, turnkey payroll solution. You can easily add/refer a new client to Justworks Payroll from within Advisor Dashboard.
To add/refer a new client to Justworks Payroll,
- From either the Dashboard home screen or the Payroll tab, click Add new client in the top right corner
- Enter your client’s business information and click Create
- Then, go to the Payroll tab in Advisor Dashboard, click on the Enrolling tab, and select the company name you just created
- The client's new Justworks Payroll account will open in a new tab, where you can assist in completing most of the onboarding process
- Once onboarding is complete, your new client will be ready to run the first payroll and will move from the Enrolling tab to the Active tab in the Payroll section
Payroll Onboarding can take 2 to 7 business days, depending on the information available upfront.
How do I add new clients to Justworks PEO and my Advisor Dashboard?
Justworks PEO helps your clients offload payroll, HR, benefits, and compliance tasks, giving them more time to focus on growing their business. You can easily refer a new client to Justworks PEO through the Advisor Dashboard.
To refer a new client to Justworks PEO:
- Go to the PEO tab and click Refer client in the top right corner
- A partner portal login page will open in a new tab—enter your credentials to proceed
- Enter your client’s information and submit the referral
If you don’t have partner credentials or want to connect with the partnerships team, click the chatbot in the lower right corner. You can send an email or call to request a connection with your regional Justworks Partner Manager.
PEO onboarding can take 2-3 weeks for expedited enrollment, though the typical timeline, 3-6 weeks, depends on how quickly your client completes their application.
Troubleshooting Errors
Why am I getting the error “Your firm members must share the same email domain. This domain is not allowed.”?
Advisor Dashboard has a security protocol in place that all members of a firm must share an email domain. For example, if Justworks had a firm on Advisor Dashboard, all of our firm members would be required to have an email ending with @justworks.com. Additionally, Advisor Dashboard currently limits the use of public email domains, such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, etc.
Why am I getting the error “It looks like your firm is already on Advisor Dashboard. Contact your firm administrator to access your firm’s account?”
In an effort to streamline your firm’s and its clients’ accounts, Justworks limits accountants from having more than 1 firm account on Advisor Dashboard. If a member of your firm tries to create a second firm account, they will receive this error. To rectify this, your member should be invited to the existing Advisor Dashboard account using the steps below.
I added a new client through my Advisor Dashboard account, but I’m not seeing them in my client list. How can I fix this?
When you utilize the “Add new client” button in your Advisor Dashboard account, this initiates the process of inviting a new client to onboard onto Justworks Payroll. Companies that are in the process of onboarding onto Justworks Payroll will appear on your Clients > Payroll > Enrolling tab. Companies on this tab will not add to your client count on the main dashboard.
It looks like I don’t have the appropriate access to my client. What can do I to increase my access?
Your clients can update your firm’s access to their account at any time! To do this, they will need to navigate to Manage > Third party > Edit. This screen will allow them to add or remove permissions your firm has access to.

The Advisor Dashboard makes identifying the right contact at Justworks for support easy. Each client on your Advisor Dashboard will have an assigned point of contact in our Customer Success team. Contact the designated representative via phone or email to assist that specific client.
