HR Consulting at Justworks is tailored HR guidance from our in-house HR professionals. All Justworks HR Consultants are certified by HRCI or SHRM and bring decades of collective real-world experience and specialized HR knowledge to help customers manage workplace needs and build strong HR practices.
Justworks offers two types of HR Consulting for Justworks PEO Customers.
Standard HR Consulting
Request-based, best-practice guidance from our team of HR Consultants, included with Justworks PEO.
Best Suited For: Businesses seeking support with occasional HR questions, individual workplace matters, and best-practice guidance as needs arise.
Dedicated HR Consulting
A paid add-on that pairs your company with an assigned, senior-level HR Consultant who learns about your business and provides ongoing, proactive support.
Best Suited For: Growing companies that are building or strengthening their HR operations and need strategic guidance on areas such as employee handbooks, multi-state policies, leave practices, performance management, and manager development—without hiring a full-time, senior-level HR professional.
What is the difference between Standard and Dedicated HR Consulting?
Both services give Justworks administrators access to certified HR professionals. The right option depends on whether your company needs help with individual HR questions or a more ongoing, strategic partnership.

What topics do HR Consultants cover?
Justworks' HR Consultants are domain experts in a broad range of HR topics including:
- Workplace conduct and employee relations
- Hiring, onboarding, and employee separations
- Performance management

- Leaves of absence and paid time off
- Multi-state HR considerations
- HR processes and documentation
- Federal, state, and local employment requirements
The type and level of support provided will depend on the HR Consulting service selected and the circumstances of the request.
What is not included in HR Consulting?
Justworks HR Consultants provide best practice guidance and recommendations, but they do not act as your company’s internal HR department or make employment decisions on your behalf.
For example, HR Consulting generally does not include conducting workplace investigations, delivering company-wide employee training, recruiting candidates, or directly managing your employees. Depending on the situation, your HR Consultant may recommend working with employment counsel or another qualified third-party.
How can I access Justworks HR Consulting?
HR Consultants are a resource for Justworks administrators only. They don’t interact directly with your employees (nor with administrators about their own employee needs).
Accessing Standard HR Consulting
To access an HR Consultant, simply contact your Customer Success Manager or a Customer Support Advocate, who can connect you to the appropriate team after they learn more about your needs.
Enrolling in and Accessing Dedicated HR Consulting
Dedicated HR Consulting is available as a paid add-on for eligible Justworks PEO customers in the United States. Contact your Customer Success Manager or Support to learn more about availability, current pricing, and enrollment.
Once enrolled, your company will be matched with your dedicated HR Consultant. Your consultant will schedule an introductory meeting to learn about your business, discuss your goals, and establish an ongoing meeting cadence.
